Automotive Technology Engineering Department

Automotive Technology Engineering Department

Automotive Technology Department pathway prepares students to install, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial machinery used in manufacturing settings.  Students gain high-tech skills related to electrical, electronics, mechanics, transmission, suspension, breaking system, computerized systems, auto technical analysis, safety analysis and evaluation and other.

After successful accomplishment of the study program the department will provide  the Diploma degree (two years-based program) in Automotive technology and also provides Bachelor’s Engineering degree (four years- based program) in Automotive Technology.

The Automotive Technology curriculum prepares the student for employment as high skilled automotive Technology service engineers. It provides an introduction to automotive careers and increases student awareness of the challenges associated with this fast and ever-changing field.

Classroom and lab experiences integrate technical and academic coursework. Emphasis is placed on theory, servicing and operation of brakes, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance, steering/suspension, automatic transmission/transaxles, engine repair, climate control, and manual drive trains.

Vision

In Automotive technicians play a vital role in a company’s transporting operations because their unique skills in troubleshooting and emergency repair allow companies to meet their technological needs for their automotive. The curriculum will test students on their knowledge of tools and equipment used in the automotive industry. Throughout the program, students will learn to apply proper maintenance procedures, test and repairs on automotive systems.
