Erbil Polytechnic University participates in Global Youth Leadership Academy

Erbil Polytechnic University participates in the Global Youth Leadership Academy event, which will be delivered on the virtual digital program due to the pandemic virus from 16th to 27th August 2021. Our university will attend this global program with five students from Erbil Technical Health College, Erbil Technical Administration College, and Erbil Technical Engineering College.

On this program, twenty UN Official and Company Representatives, 1,200 alumni, 500 young leaders from 30 countries will be available to encourage youth to become systems thinkers, change-makers, innovators, and global leaders in the future. The program of GYLA includes UN System and Youth Empowerment, Thought Leadership, Global Mindset, and Action Competence.

The Global Youth and Leadership Academy (GYLA) was established in 2016 with top Chinese universities & UN Agencies. The youth-led platform provides young people with the opportunity to learn and exchange knowledge and experiences with global leaders. GYLA brings young people together to discuss the role of youth in addressing the challenges of the pandemic and commitment to the SDGs with global leaders.

To shed more light on this event, it is worth mentioning that in collaboration with M3TRIX Academy, UN agencies, and leading universities, GYLA has developed the online program eGYLA for young people who aspire to be future leaders and social innovators. They will learn how to address the post-pandemic futures and contribute to realizing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Upon completion, the attendees will receive a certificate issued by GYLA in collaboration with UN partner agencies and M3TRIX. Outstanding participants will get a recommendation to improve their career opportunities and will be able to engage in future projects with international academic and corporate partners.
