Translation Techniques Department
The Department of Translation Techniques in Erbil Technical Administration Institute in Erbil Polytechnic University is one of the outstanding departments; the study has begun in the Department in the academic year 2016-2017. The students are given different materials in Translation studies, Language and Linguistics. It qualifies the graduates to be translators, English teachers, and employees wherever translation is needed.
The department provides its students with modern issues in translation, English Linguistics, and other language skills. The department’s curriculum is chosen according to scientific criteria, taking into consideration the development in the fields of language and translation. A particular attention is paid to the practical side of the study to train the students to be efficient translators.
Translation at Department of Translation Techniques refers to both ,the translation of the written word, that is, the translation of written texts from one language to another (English and Kurdish) . The translation of the spoken word, whether simultaneously or consecutively, is referred to as “interpretation”.
