Erbil Polytechnic University Rector receives SPARK International Organization Delegation

On Sunday the 26th of June 2022, Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received a SPARK International Organization delegation headed by the Project Manager Mr. Firas Deeb.

In a meeting session, the SPARK International Organization delegation congratulated the University Rector for his new rectorship position. They also discussed the quality of the SPARK project they implemented in collaboration with our university; and discussed plans to work on future projects. The SPARK project tends to train the refugees, displaced people, and the EPU alumni to increase their skills and prepare them for the labor market.

In this session, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Assistant for Scientific Affairs and the Career and Development Center Department Director were present.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Visits Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates

On Sunday the 26th of June 2022, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, accompanied by the Mergassor Technical Institute Dean, visited the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in the Kurdistan Region-Erbil. The Consul General, Mr. Ahmed Aldhaheri, received them.

During this visit, the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki held a meeting with the Consul General, Mr. Ahmed Aldhaheri, in which he briefly talked about the university and the relationship between our university and the named consulate.

The aim of this visit was to introduce the EPU further, build a relationship with the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates, and collaborate in academic fields between the United Arab Emirates universities and the EPU.

Erbil Polytechnic University Fulfilled A Civil Defense Training Course

Under the supervision of the Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Asst.Prof.Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, in collaboration with the Erbil Civil Defense Directorate and the University Health and Safety Department, completed a civil defense training course on Thursday, 16th of June 2022, at the EPU Celebration Hall. The colleges and institutes’ administrative staff and several university presidency employees participated in the course.

On Thursday, our university Rector Assistants for Administration and Students Affairs attended the celebration of the course completion. They offered the certificate of participation to the Erbil Civil Defense Directorate officers-staff and other participants.

It is worth mentioning that the course continued for five days, from 12 to 16th of June 2022, in which the training course supervisors theoretically and practically taught the art of behavior during the accidents and fire disasters, burning, traffic accidents, building evacuation, First Aid, and Civil Defense to the attendees.

A Delegation of Erbil Polytechnic University Attended A workshop About Quality Assurance Process

A delegation of Erbil Polytechnic University participated in a workshop about the Quality Assurance Process on the 12th and 13th of June 2022 at the Royal Hotel. In collaboration with European Union, UNESCO Organization managed the workshop.

This workshop is a part of (TVET-2) project activities to develop the Quality Assurance Process in which the three Polytechnic University Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah, and four Iraqi Technical universities attended.

The EPU Quality Assurance Board delivered a presentation about (ECTS) and Quality Assurance works in the university and explained the Quality Assurance plan to the audience.

It is worth mentioning that the European Union funds (TVET-2) and UNESCO Organization supervise it. It aims to develop and enhance the Quality Assurance Process and ECTS System in polytechnic universities.
