The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research presents awards to two students of Erbil Polytechnic University

On Tuesday, the 31st of January 2023, the Rector of Erbil Polytechnic University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir presented awards to students of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) universities who participated in the Huawei ICT competition and won the second place in the Middle East.

In a meeting where the Deputy Minister, the Presidents of Erbil Polytechnic, Salahaddin and Lebanese French Universities, the representatives of Huawei in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the advisors and general directors of the Ministry were present the Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister received the students. He also congratulated the organizers of the competition for providing a suitable environment for the students to showcase their scientific abilities in the fields of information technology and communications.

It is worth mentioning that the participants of the competition in the Kurdistan Region consisted of students from the Erbil Polytechnic University(EPU), Salahaddin-Erbil University, and French Lebanese University (LFU). One team of the attendees won second place and the others could win the seventh grade. Four out of six students in both teams are students of the Kurdistan Regional Government universities.

Finally, Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir presented prizes and the honorary certificates to the students attended the competition and expressed his gratitude towards the lecturers’ sincere working and the universities attended the competition.

Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Receives The Partners Of The Camplus Project

On Tuesday, the 31 January , 2023, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Edrees Muhamad Tahir Harki received the partners of Erbil Polytechnic University in the Camplus project which consisted of seven international institutions from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Greece.

In a meeting where the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, the Director of the International Relations and officials and trainers of the project in our university were present, the Rector welcomed the delegation of the European partners in the Camplus project and expressed his pleasure for the cooperation and collaboration between our university and the European institutions He expressed the university’s readiness to work together to further serve Kurdistan’s youth, students and refugees in the camps.

It is worth mentioning that six academic staff of the Erbil Polytechnic University participated in a special course in Italy last year to become trainers.

This project is funded by the European Union and aims to help refugees and graduates of our university to develop their projects and create job opportunities for them.
