Erbil Polytechnic University participates in a workshop in Lebanon

A delegate from EPU headed by vice president for scientific affairs on 12th and 13th of December 2018, participated in a workshop on Reforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Lebanon.

The workshop focused on the organisational structure of administration and the system of governance in TVET organisation.

It is decided in a near future such organisation is to be established. After the establishment of TVET organisation, a project specifically to support the reform of technical studies will be submitted to Iraqi government and parliament, and Kurdistan Region of Iraq to debate and accept.

The project financially is support by European Commission in collaboration with UNESCO which supervises and runs the project.

EPU participated a Workforce Development Conference

EPU participated a Workforce Development Conference organized and supported by IREX, the US Embassy in Baghdad, and the federal Ministry if Higher Education.

The Conference took place in Baghdad on Dec. 12 & 13, 2018.  Dr. Adnan Shihab, who represented EPU  at the conference, had a presentation where he shared the experience the University has in preparing the graduates to enter the job market and stay at the jobs they get.

Erbil Polytechnic University participated in Pedagogy Course in Finland

Under his excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan Region as a part of Reform Process in Methods of Pedagogy at the universities. Dr. Aras Qadir Khoshnaw and Dr. Khalil Hasan Younis as a representative of the EPU participated in a modern teaching method course (pedagogy) at the HAMK university in Finland.

The reform process of pedagogy with Finland is one of the important projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research which 33 academic staff in public and private universities in the Kurdistan Region participated in the reform of teaching method in collaboration with HAMK university in Finland.

The duration of the course is six months, the first six weeks were in HAMK university in Finland. The other four months is run in the Kurdistan Region supervised by the Finnish Experts. After the completion of the course, the participants will monitor and supervise the teaching methods held in the Kurdistan region universities. This is done to change the infrastructure of classical teaching method into modern and taking scientific step towards pedagogy process.

The course started on 1st of November 2018 in Finland and ended on 15th December 2018.
